Welcome to the BrightGauge Enhancement Forums

The Enhancement Forums is one of several listening posts used to bring enhancement ideas to the ConnectWise Product Management Team. We utilize information from support tickets, information gathered from our onsite Consulting Team and our Sales Team during the sales process, as well as one-on-one or group discussions with our partners.

Do you have an enhancement you want to suggest or have you come across an enhancement you would like our Product Management Team to review?  Vote and leave a comment.  The more information gathered on the enhancement, the easier it is to make the case to the Product Management Team. The Product Management team automatically reviews enhancements with 250 votes or more and we will provide any updates to that enhancement as they become available.

Increase 300 character limit for Time Entry notes pulled from PSA

Charlie Thompson 2 years ago updated by Paul Wegner 2 years ago 1

I would like to pull more than 300 chars, ideally 1,000, from Time Entry notes. This is because we want to pull specific time entry notes into customer facing reports being generated from BrightGauge, as this saves us a lot of time adding the text manually into reports.

I have been told that BG is not limiting the chars and it is the PSA API, however I figured worth raising on here because the direct impact of this is data coming into BG.

Add Variables!

Alex Boucher 2 years ago updated by Darren Drewitz 2 years ago 1

It would make a lot of my gauges easier if there was a design option to use specific variables without having to manually adjust numbers every time certain things change. For example:  %customers% would be the total number of customers and %endpoints% would be the total number of endpoints.  Even just letting me define a value for %placeholder% so I only need to make one change would be very useful.

Create parity datasets with NinjaOne, like Automate

Brandon Fox 2 years ago in CMS updated by Shagun Jain 1 year ago 1

NinjaOne API exposes all information needed to make a parity datasets that present the same information as Automate.

Please use the relevant NinjaOne endpoints to pull all device information:

  • /v2/devices-detailed

In particular, I'm at least looking for memory statistics, which don't exist in any NinjaOne dataset.

Image Rendering

Neil Lupsic 2 years ago 0

Currently it is SO painful to do this.

You cannot see the uploaded image from the selection so if you have more than 10 images stored....good luck finding the one you need.

Also and most frustrating is trying to scale an image so it does not crop too much or too little.

It is a battle of trying to manipulate a poor interface to get it to render right...And each time you try, you need to create a report, then try again etc.

Painful!

Need a dataset that contains Budget data entered into Xero

Tom Bennett 2 years ago 0

There are no datasets available with the Xero data source that has the budget information entered into Xero.  We are wanting to create gauges that track revenues and costs against our budget.

BrightGauge Workflow Management Needed

Kelsey Ramirez 4 days ago 0

There needs to be a way to filter out gauges that have workflows in them. If we are only allotted a certain amount, we have to be able to manage those. Being told to manually look at all our Snapshot & Number gauges to find them is wild.

Allow Customization of Built-in Datasets

Luis Contreras 1 week ago 0

The built-in datasets in BrightGauge provide an excellent starting point, but their usefulness is limited because they cannot be extended with additional fields or columns.

For example, the OS Patch Compliance dataset is useful for identifying machines that are offline or have not been assessed within a specified timeframe. However, when presenting this information to partners, the next question is almost always, "Who owns this device?"

If the dataset included—or allowed administrators to add—a field such as Last Logged In User, partners could immediately identify the likely owner and begin remediation without having to cross-reference another report or system.

Rather than requesting a specific field be added to this dataset, I would like to see the ability to customize built-in datasets by selecting additional available fields from the underlying data source. This would make built-in datasets significantly more flexible while allowing organizations to tailor reports to their own operational needs without requiring entirely custom datasets.

Include Products tab (PO Info, Description, Unit Price, Ext Price, Unit Cost, Ext Cost, Amount, Margin, and Margin %) from the Invoice dataset

Ryan Sullivan 3 weeks ago updated 3 weeks ago 1

It would be extremely helpful from a cost of good reporting standpoint if the information available in Connectwise PSA on the Products tab in an Invoice was made available (i.e., assuming Invoice Dataset).

PO Info, Description, Unit Price, Ext Price, Unit Cost, Ext Cost, Amount, Margin, and Margin %, etc.

Datasets for Scripts & Monitors

Luis Contreras 3 weeks ago 0

Monitor Dataset:

  • Type (Intelligent/Regular)
  • Name
  • Family
  • Severity
  • Applicable On
  • Monitor Output
  • *** It'd be a plus to add a counter per machine that indicates how many times a monitor has triggered

Script Dataset:

  • Name
  • Task Type
  • Category
  • Date Created
  • Created By
  • Counter (# of times ran)

This would aid in building metrics for both Scripts and Monitors.
